So there's two of you? How'd that happen?

We've been friends since college in Athens, GA. We won't say how long ago that we were in college. Since then we started a business together called SunnyBoy Entertainment, written for TV shows like R.L. Stine's Haunting Hour and Spooksville. Now we are writing books for young readers together. We've been doing so much together for so long that we figured we'd just take on a pen name. Thus Rucker Moses was born.

Where'd you come up with the name Rucker Moses?

You'll learn a lot more about him if you read the book but we took the name Rucker from the one and only Black Herman. His birth name is Benjamin Rucker. Moses we added as a nod to, well, Moses. Everyone knows Moses but what they don't know is that he was steeped in the magical arts in ancient Egypt. So we combined the names of these two legends of magic for our pen name.

What are you up to next?

We are working with Disney and producer Jane Startz to develop Kingston as a film and working on our next book series that we can't tell you much about but we'll at least drop some bread crumbs. We grew up listening to Outkast. ATLiens is our favorite album. We might be headed back to our hometown for our next kid adventure and here's a hook from Outkast that we've been listening to over and over again.
